JUN LOZADA FOR PRESIDENT….Inspired by Ed Panlilios Recall ( medyo mahaba)
Ok here goes...Im about to say some stuff and Im ready to get stoned. No not the Jamaican kind of happy stoned but more like the St Stephen kind of stoned. The ouchy kind.
Hero
Considering that today we celebrate a Filipino Hero (and upon receipt of an Email from James/Neil/The man) I've decided to put a few thoughts down.
I have issues about using a person as a "shining example" of change (especially if the only focus is on his heroism) ...if only for the simple reason that arguments may be made against the validity or sincerity of the change via the inevitable dirty laundry that surrounds each and every one of us.
Sleep With the Government and Struggle with Power
In the grand scheme of things, I have always suspected that big business, especially the ones that require congressional franchises in particular, willingly collude with Government as a form of political pat-a-cake when it is convenient or profitable.
As an example of this friendly ball scratching, and in the case of Meralco, one of my beefs is the system loss and subsidy charges ( aside from the fact that they charge us VAT on that as well).
THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMM: RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN THE PHILIPPINES FACT OR FICTION?
As per Wikipedia, "Faith is a belief in an idea that is unsupported, or contradicted, by evidence."
AS per Miriam Webster,
2 a (1): belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2): belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1): firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2): complete trust
3: something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs <the Protestant faith>
A while back there was this judge who consulted with dwarves before he made a decision.

Eleven senators endorse federal system of govt (KAA-TOING!!!)
JPG-To start let me say that whatever these senators are drinking I want some.
Eleven senators have co-sponsored a resolution calling to amend the 1987 Constitution and the eventual adoption of a federal system of government, ABS-CBN News reported Thursday.
A Blogger’s Call to INACTION
I wrote this after a co YPS member showed me (us) the link to this blog page on a popular social networking site. My friend thought that it was disturbing how "so many" ( actually not that many) people seemed to agree with the few lines of a statement this blog makes. While Im not exactly disturbed by it, it is very reflective of a disconnect people feel between their daily life and politics.
Something Scary at the Senate ( with additional POST SCRIPT)
Something Scary at the Senate ( with additional POST SCRIPT)
I haven't been sleeping very well these days.
I also haven't been writing much these days.I think the reason for each is pretty much the same.T
he senate investigations are creeping me out.Not that this should be a surprise. Its always creepy to see a bunch like this sitting together, asking the same questions over and over again. Its like watching groundhog day.
Usually as funny and to a certain point equally depressing.
Why the Administration is steamrolling all over our civil society groups
A story in the news today exemplifies why the Administration is steamrolling all over our civil society groups and protectors of our freedoms.
When a Government deal is under investigation, lets say ZTE, and has a key witness that it wants to isolate, that key witness is:
1. Isolated from the media
2. Taken to an undisclosed airfield or port
3. Smuggled on to an outgoing international vessel
4. Assured that his family will be taken care of
5. And he will not return again until the heat dies down or is overtaken by another scandalous individual.
Mga Cong! May one million ba kayo dyan?
Last night I watched a battle.
The tale of the tape shows the battle was one sided and all too tedious as it was peppered by vacuous talk. Really, how many ways can you really say "joe you suck"? Last night there were over two hundred ways.
But last night there was not just one fight...there were two.
There was the non title bout, the one to create the belts availability and the other the battle royale for the belt itself.
Quezon’s Hell or How ChaCha Has Historical Precedent
*Disclaimer: Since I am not a historian, let me make it clear that I am not trying to delve into the mind of President Quezon when he said what he said. What Id like to simply point out is that, like statistics, quotes can be used, misused, and abused to no end. However, regardless of intent, historical statements are judged on two fronts, the context in which it was used in then, and how its used/misused and how it reflects/affects our lives today.
